Handmade pendant with 9 karat yellow gold that is a “matte” gold on the tulips. Matte gold was to give the gold a softer appearance. In the Victorian Language of Flowers the Tulip means “A Declaration of Love”. The pendant is set with a natural hand cut ruby, and a natural Baroque pearl dangles from the pendant. This is from an Atlanta collector of antique jewelry. The Circa date of the pendant is 1875. It is nicely done and dainty, as well. The bale was replaced sometime in the last 80 years; I have added a small gold chain. This is 1 1/2 inches long with the bale and 1/2 inch wide. Beautiful to wear.
