This cross is from Springfield, Massachusetts. It is Circa 1855 and gold-filled when layers of gold are applied over a base metal of sterling. There is no wear to the gold and pendants and brooches hold up very well being gold filled. The cross has twelve - 1.75mm natural ocean pearls in each point of the cross. The cross in large: 2 1/8" tall by 1 3/8" wide (without the bale) but not overwhelming at all. The cross was worn on a ribbon originally but I have added a new 16 inch chain. It is beautiful and in wonderful original condition.
