This gemstone called Starlite Zircon that is a beautiful aqua blue bright color. Zircon is a natural gemstone and has the same approximate value as today’s Aquamarine. The Zircon is not to be confused with a Cubic Zirconia that is a modern man made stone that is an inexpensive replacement for a diamond.
Zircons due to its superior refractive index and dispersion, shines very brightly when cut. Zircon was a loved gem from the ancient times, as it was believed that it brings wisdom, honor, and wealth when worn. This stone was mined in Persia and Sri Lanka.
It has a hardness level of 7 ½ - the same as Aquamarines. This ring is circa dated to the mid-1800’s (approximately 1860) and from the Philadelphia area.
The yellow gold is 15 karat not marked but acid tested. The ring is a size 6 3/4 and can be resized easily. This is a beautiful and feminine gemstone and ring.
