The bracelet is intricately handmade of 14 karat yellow gold. Period bangle bracelets that are gold and not gold filled are very hard to find. This one is a work of art, it is hand designed and hand crafted of 14 karat yellow gold. There is a lot of detail in the gold work and the gemstone setting. The bangle is set with 9 hand cut and hand set Amethyst natural gemstones of ½ carat each. The total carat weight is more that 4.5 carats of Amethyst gemstone in the bracelet. Then there are 7 natural diamonds on each side of the bangle at 28 point of TCW. This bangle would have taken a great deal of time and talent for a gold smith of the period. The bracelet came from a collector of 40 years and is in wonderful condition. He dated it to be 1860 to 1875 in age. It has a strong clasp and safety clasps. The size is 6 7/8 inches for the inside measurement, this would pretty much fix an average size wrist of today. Handmade gemstone gold bangles are very hard to fine today and this is in wonderful condition.
