This is circa 1850 and handmade gold work of 18 karat rose gold. Rose gold was a fashion color of gold in the Georgian and Victorian time periods. It was yellow gold mixed with natural platinum and the alloy and copper added to give the pink color to the gold. Rose gold has the same carat weight as yellow gold or white gold. The bangle is set with 20 hand cut and hand set natural Diamonds. The center Rose cut diamond of 80 point of a carat. The sides each have 5 diamonds making the total of 11 hand cut diamonds at a total weight of 1.70 carats. There are 7 small diamonds set around the center 80 point diamond. The bracelet is from Pennsylvania from a collector. The size of the band is 1/8 of an inch wide and 6 3/8 for the inside measurement. The back of the bangle is without diamonds and is decorated with handmade open work. The bracelet is not too formal and could be worn for dress sport clothes just fine. The bangle has a strong clasp and a safety chain as well in excellent condition and a wonderful investment antique which will only increase in value.
