In Latin America, it is also traditional for the descendants of the old criollo aristocratic families to wear signet rings in the Spanish tradition.
In early times, when sending letters, the sender would secure the document by melting wax over the closing point of the document and then make an impression in the fresh wax with their Family Seal Ring.
This would ensure that the recipient knew the correspondence was genuine and that it wasn't tampered with.
These wax seal rings would often be passed down from generation to generation.
The setting is 15 karat Rose gold and handmade. The shoulders of the ring are hand engraved. The ring size is a 7 but the ring can be resized if needed up or down in size. The ring is correct for the Civil War time to wear on the small finger, it is beautiful and in excellent condition.
