This is a handmade ring that is a very pure Mid-Victorian design. It was handmade in the 1865 with the Sheffield England Hallmarks for that year. The yellow gold setting is of 9 karat weight, handmade and one of a kind. The ring has the wedding ring style of band 6.5mm wide at the front and narrows at the back. The three amethyst are very deep in color which gives them the name Royal Amethyst. The gemstone are natural Amethyst with the center stone being 2 ¼ carats and the two side gemstones are ½ carats each. That is 3 ¼ carats for the total weight, that are hand cut and hand set in to the wedding ring. Leonardo Da Vinci wrote that amethyst was able to dissipate evil thoughts and quicken the intelligence.
